General News: Cornwall Youth Football Week 2

MIGHTY MITES-WHITE
The Mighty Mites White Dragons beat Wallkill 12-0 in a hard fought game. The offensive line played great led by Shane Conway, Kobe Zagon, Victor Maldonado, Zachary Saufl and John Brady. Tyler Conway made key blocks that helped Shane O’Dea score 2 touchdowns. The defense led by James Murphy, Ryan O’Dea, Matthew Raynor, Steve Gazzillo, Logan Wentland, Richard Mahig, Joe LoPresti, Noah Chaudhry, Jake DeBree and Joseph Parker kept Wallkill from scoring any touchdowns.

DIVISION 1-GREEN
The Cornwall Dragons Green Team fell short to Chester 23-12.  Gene Baybay scored a touchdown with a 42 yard run.  Joey Lynch and Michael Turner connected for a 15-yard pass completion in the first half and an 18-yard pass completion in the 4th quarter.  

Brendan Gonyo, Ray Fratz, Robert Murphy, Cameron Graboff and Eric Fossveit held the line against Chester.  Cameron MacLeod showed great hustle out there on the field.  At the end of the 4th quarter, Jack Strohmeier set up a great block for Joey Lynch to score the second touchdown for the Green Dragons.  

DIVISION 1- WHITE
The Dragons White team beat Valley Central 20-19. Gavin Mannion and Kyle O’Brien combined for a total of 3 Dragon touchdowns while QB Jacob Decker converted for 2 PAT’s behind Justin Cerone’s blocks. Gabrielle Kurtz recovered a fumble in the 3rd quarter that led to a Dragon TD. Thomas Keller’s tackle on a critical 4th down play by VC secured the Dragon win. Despite the heat, the entire team showed great overall effort.

DIVISION 2
The White Dragons took it on the chin today losing to Washingtonville 24-0.  Austin Faller made two solo tackles behind the line of scrimmage, while Jessie Santafemia and Scott Brusseler each made several tackles to lead the White D.  It was tough going on offense today, but Jason Bailey caught six passes for 75 yards.  Michael Reilly twice made a diving catch that resulted in a first down.  Tyler Trieste and Brendan Rose fought hard on the offensive line all day.

DIVISION 3
The Division 3 Green Dragons lost to Minisink Valley White, 18-0.  Standouts on the defensive side of the ball were Peter Cote, Chris Kearney, Brad Prunier and David Sirota.  Troy Pinkham and Matt Smith showed great offensive effort.
