By Christine Staudle
The major softball team won its first All-Star game on Saturday when Ally Galati's three hits and four RBIs led Cornwall to an A bracket win against New Windsor.
Megan Staudle added three hits for Cornwall and Olivia Jebb had a lead off homerun to start the game. Allison Scott pitched a two-hitter after 3-1/2 innings of play.
The game ended on a triple play when Ally Galati snagged a fly ball to short throwing out the runner at third. Dylana Bicknese rolled the ball to the pitcher Allison Scott as both teams thought that was the third out. Allison Scott then heard coach Ed Staudle yelling to get the runner at first, she threw the ball to Lora Rinaldi who picked off the runner leaving first base.
The team will play Minisink in Pine Bush on Monday 7/2 at 6:30pm.
