General News: Town Offers More Outdoor Fun This Summer

Town of Cornwall Deputy supervisor Mary Beth Greene Krafft announced the town is offering additional programs this summer for the youth and elderly.
First, the Kinder Kamp will be offered for children ages 3-5 (those not yet in kindergarten) Mondays through Fridays from 9:30-11:30 a.m.. The two three-week sessions will be full of arts and crafts, games and sport activities. They will be held at the Town Hall Park from July 9-27 and from July 30-August 17. Each session is $125 with a maximum of 40 children per session. A copy of children's immunization records must be presented a registration.
Greene Krafft also announced two Outdoor Adventure Programs that will be offered in conjunction with the new Storm King Adventure Tours: one for 11-13 year olds and the other for 14-17 year old teens. Both age group sessions will be located at Black Rock Forest Preserve and at the Hudson River and will engage the youth in kayaking and hiking. The older group will also take on mountain biking.
The adventure program for the younger group will be held every Friday from July 11-August 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The older group will be held every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1-4 pm and/or Friday from July 11-August 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The programs are $165. Finally, the Senior Hudson River Kayak Outings are being offered to adults ages 55 and older. This relaxing guided tour will launch kayaks from Cornwall Landing and head north along the shore of Cornwall Bay into the “back country” of the Hudson, while spotting various wildlife species. It will be held on June 29 at 11 a.m., July 25 at 6:30 p.m. and September 14 at 1 p.m. Each session is $30 per person per date.
