It didn’t rain this Saturday, Riverfest organizers noted as they smiled all day long. Even a few threatening clouds late in the day couldn’t change their mood.
It didn’t rain and the people kept coming through the gates. Visitors strolled through the lines of food and craft vendors who had set up their booths along the riverfront. Others were drawn to the cool shade of the music tent for performers who entertained for hours with folk music and rock.
On the far end of the festival, children played in a giant inflatable castle or in a variety of activities the organizers had arranged.
And as John Wenz, the chair of the village’s Riverfront Revitalization Committee noted, for the first time the water was filled with people enjoying our great natural resource, the river. The Storm King Adventures Tours, the new outfitter in the village, brought 30 kayaks down to the waterfront and spent the day giving tours to anyone who wanted to try it out.
