May 14, 2007
On school election day, Tuesday, May 15, from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Cornwall Central Middle School, voters in the Cornwall Central School district will be voting on the following items. You may also visit www.cornwallschools.com for greater details.
Proposition One: School Budget for Year 2007-08
This year the proposed budget is $50.9 million dollars, which if adopted, would result in a 3.37% increase in the school tax.
Visit the school district website for details about where the money will be spent.
Proposition Two: School Capital Projects Bond
The school district wants authorization to spend $4.68 million to pay for several building improvements, particularly updating the three elementary schools to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The school district will be re-imbursed for nearly $4 million of the $4.68 million required for these updates and repairs. The rest will be paid for with a bond.
Find out here exactly what capital improvement projects are.
