The Orange County Soil and Water office wants to help residents plant more trees. The office is offering a wide-range of tree and ornamental bush seedlings that can be yours for a nominal fee.
The small seedlings, ranging in size from six inches to three feet can be ordered now through April 8 at www.ocsoil.org. Just print the order form and send them back by the deadline.
Here’s a sample of what’s available: Blue Spruce, Scotch Pine, Crabapple, Lilac, Butterfly Bus, Raspberry, Dogwood and Sugar Maple. In addition, you may order ground covers, like hosta and ferns, bulbs, wildflower seeds, bird feeders, nesting boxes and fertilizer.
Orders will be ready for pickup at James Bergen’s farm in Slate Hill from 3 to 7 p.m. on April 18 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 19.
