General News: Library Budget Up for Approval

In preparation for the annual library budget vote that will take place at Cornwall Public Library on Tuesday, April 8th, the Library’s Board of Trustees has approved the operating budget for the next fiscal year.
On the ballot on April 8th will be the vote on the 2008/2009 Library Operating Budget of $885,458, of which $830,458 is raised by taxes. The breakdown is as follows:

Also on the ballot will be election of a Library Trustee for a 5-year term. One candidate has turned in the 25 signatures necessary for placement on the ballot: Maureen A. Terwilliger. On June 30, 2008, Mrs. Terwilliger will have completed an 18-month term of office as a Trustee by appointment to fill a vacancy. If her bid is successful, this will be her first elected term.
Voting will take place in the Cornwall Public Library’s Community Room from 10AM until 9PM, Tuesday, April 8th. Qualified voters are residents of the Cornwall Central School District and must have registered to vote in a general or school district election. Personal registration of voters is required. Absentee ballots are available by contacting the School District office at 845-534-8009 for further information.
