General News: Girls Advance to Semi-Finals

The Cornwall girls varsity basketball team, by virtue of their dominating 57-31 victory over Section IV champion Oneonta on Tuesday, travel to Pace College in Pleasantville, N.Y. on Friday at 6:00 to face Section I champion Pearl River.
The winner of that game advances to the "Final Four" of the NYSPHSAA Girls Basketball Championships at Hudson Valley Community College next week-end.
Drew Bloss, Cornwall's outstanding wrestler, will be competing in the state tournament this week-end in Rochester. Also, four members of the indoor track team will represent Cornwall at Cornell this week-end in the state tournament.
The athletes are: Kelsey Branch (Pole Vault),Ian Clerkin (Mile),Ken Coleman (300), and Kris Kolewe (600).
