General News: Grant for Fire Department
April 10, 2007
The Storm King Fire Engine Company #2 was notified last Friday that it will be receiving a $25,000 grant from the office of state Senator William Larkin.
Fire department chief Jeff Armitage says that the grant money likely will be used to purchase a thermal imaging camera that will be used to detect fires behind walls. The rest would be used to replace older and damaged personal safety equipment for the firefighters.
Armitage noted that the grant money helps the village save money that would otherwise have to be spent of these items.
