General News: Four Petitions Filed in Village Trustee Race

Four people handed in petitions to run for two trustee seats in the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson in the March election.
Village clerk Jeanne Mahoney said the four people brought in their petitions on Tuesday and signed forms accepting the nomination to run. The deadline for the petitions is Wednesday, February 13, but Mahoney said she is not expecting any more.
The four candidates who will be on the ballot in the March 18 election are incumbents Charles (Rudy) Hahn and Peter Miller as well as challengers Rick Gioia and Barbara Gosda.
Gioia was defeated in 2007 in his first attempt to get a seat on the board of trustees. Gosda, who is also active on the Village Square Improvement Association, is making her first run.
