General News: Black Rabbit Found in Homeland

February 09, 2008

A black rabbit that looks like it has been someone’s pet is on the loose in the Homeland area of Cornwall-on-Hudson.

The large rabbit first appeared three or four days ago when a resident began asking neighbors if it belonged to them.  On Friday, it appeared in the yard of another residence on Homeland Avenue where it burrowed into some leaves.

The homeowner, who asks to remain anonymous, called the animal control office that said it doesn’t pick up stray rabbits, only dogs.  The homeowner says she won’t call the nuisance control office because she doesn’t believe it is a nuisance – just a furry lost pet.

If you are missing a black rabbit, please give Joanne a call at 534-2427.  In the meantime, she will give the furry critter some lettuce and a fenced-in yard.

Missing white rabbits should be returned to Grace Slick!

sostrander!

We have found a white rabbit with grayish brown markings on its ears and back and looks like it once belonged to someone. It has a serious infection in its right eye and it needs a home. Since we already have a male rabbit, he keeps trying to mate with this one so we believe it's female.
