General News: Two More Arrests in Trespass Case
January 30, 2008
Cornwall police have arrested two more teens in connection with an alleged criminal trespassing at a vacant dwelling on Brewer Road on January 20, 2008.
On January 25, police charged 19-year-old Jordan Gigante, of Cornwall, with criminal trespass and also charged an unidentified 15-year-old male from Cornwall. The minor will appear before an Orange County Family Court judge while the 19-year-old’s case will be heard by a Town of Cornwall judge.
Earlier last week, police charged two16-year-old males from Cornwall and 21-year-old Michael Morabito from Cornwall-on-Hudson with criminal trespassing. Police say the youths were using the building as a hang out until they were observed by a neighbor who called the police.
Comments:
any more info for this story. was the building abandoned? new construction not lived in? without info like that who's to say thease kids should have criminal records now for being in a dwelling but maybe not destroying anything (once again no info) the town police seem to have no discretion lately and future employment of thease children could be in jepordy over semantics. seem's to me i remember when police would tell ya to go home or empty the container and go home than cuff n'stuff a minor if no harm was committed. once agin fall's back to discretion.
