General News: Three Nabbed for Trespass in Vacant House
January 27, 2008
Three local youths were arrested on January 20 and charged with criminal trespassing inside a vacant dwelling on Brewer Road in Cornwall.
Cornwall police chief Todd Hazard said in a statement that a neighbor called in a report of people in the building and when the police arrived at the residence shortly after 11 p.m., the youths fled into nearby woods.
After an investigation led by Sgt. Steve Dixon, police arrested two 16-year-old males from Cornwall and 21-year-old Michael Morabito from Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Chief Hazard reports the subjects were believed to be using the residence as hang out. They were all charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing. Hazard said that police anticipate making two additional arrests in the case.
