Village and town police are investigating six incidents in which unlocked vehicles were tampered with while parked overnight outside the owners’ residences. In some of the cases in the village, no items were missing; in others loose change was gone.
In the town cases, three passenger vehicles parked on Ridge Road were broken into and a GPS was removed from one of vehicles on Tuesday night while an Ipod was taken from a vehicle parked on Harold Avenue. Cornwall police chief Todd Hazard says he believes the theft of the Ipod Nano on Sunday was unrelated.
Cornwall-on-Hudson police responded to reports of vehicles that had been tampered with Monday night on Riverside Drive, Bellwood Lane, Maple Road and Mountain Road.
Comments:
Here we go again! This sounds an awful lot like the thefts we had in the village in August. We have a lot of great kids in Cornwall but there are also many parents who allow their children to hang out and roam the streets at night. Watch your children! They are not always capable of making the wise decision we would like them to, and this is where the parenting comes in.
