A cinder block building on the Scenic Technology property on Shore Road in Cornwall-on-Hudson collapsed early Saturday morning during the snowstorm.
An employee of the Department of Public Works discovered the collapsing structure when he was plowing. Police chief Charles Williams says that attempts to contact the building's owner were unsuccessful and a private crew was called in to take down what remained of the structure, which was creating a hazard.
The building was virtually empty except for some old items in storage. The adjoining building remained intact.
