General News: Cornwall Man Faces Sexual Abuse Charge

A 20-year-old man from Cornwall faces a misdemeanor sexual abuse charge following an incident that allegedly occurred on January 1st.
Police in Cornwall on Hudson Police Department arrested John B. Shay, age 21, of Cornwall, on Thursday and charged him with sexual abuse in the second degree and with forcible touching, also a misdemeanor. Sexual abuse in the second degree involves the sexual contact with a person when he or she is incapable of consent.
The alleged abuse was reported to the police by a 20-year-old female.
The defendant was arraigned before the Honorable Judge Joseph Thomson and released to reappear in Town Court on January 17 at 6:00pm.
The initial investigating and arresting officer was P.O. John Pena, assisted by P.O. Jill Nye.
