General News: Girls Varsity Soccer Team Wins

The girls varsity soccer team won it game against Newburgh Free Academy on Thursday with a score of 3-2.
Tara Mancini scored on a header from a corner kick by Steph Strine to lead Cornwall over NFA. Noel Poindexter scored in the first half off an assist by Laura Basilico. Ann Marie Rizzi scored the final goal on an assist from Kim Sharo.
Jill Moretto played a strong game on defense . Carina Luck recorded 13 saves in the win.This was Cornwall's 9th straight win.
The Lady Dragons begin sectional play at home on Wednesday against Goshen in a 2:00 p.m. start.
The team has a league record of 5-1 and an overall record of 13-5.
