General News: Mayor Introduces Budget Proposal
January 09, 2007
Mayor Ed Moulton is proposing a village budget of $3,059,000 for fiscal year 2007-08, a $75,000 decrease in spending from the current fiscal year. He introduced the new budget at a work session of the village government Monday night.
The proposed budget projects a loss in state aid of $145,000. Some of that difference will be made up by a 2.5% proposed increase in property taxes, or $8.09 per thousand dollars, and the rest will be covered by tightened spending. The property tax increase is less than that approved for the current fiscal year.
Copies of the proposed budget are available at the Village Hall during business hours and a public hearing on the proposal will be held on Monday, January 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the hall.
