General News: Village Hires Police Officer

From the Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

 On Monday evening, November 16, 2015, during the monthly Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Business Meeting, Joseph J. Guarneiri, Jr., was sworn in as a full- time police officer for theVillage of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department.

Joseph J. Guarneiri, Jr,, has worked as a part- time police officer for both the Town of Mt. Hope, N.Y., and the Village of Chester, N.Y., Police Departments for the past three years. Mr. Guarneiri was hired off the Orange County Department of Personnel Police Officer Eligible List. Chief Steve Dixon interviewed over fifteen candidates for this position during the months of October, 2015 and November, 2015.

Mr. Guarneiri is the first full- time officer hired by the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson PD since 2006, he joins both P.O. Arthur Terwilliger and P.O. John Pena as the Departments’ full- time officers.
