General News: Obituary: Rita Y. Despres

Rita Y. Despres, 75, of Lompoc, Calif., and former longtime resident of Cornwall, died January 2, 2007 at Lompoc Hospital in California. Family members will receive visitors this Tuesday at the Quigley Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
The daughter of Antonio and Amelia Pepin, she was born May 5, 1931 in New Bedford, Mass. She was married to the late Louis J. Despres, who passed away December 5, 1991. She was further predeceased by her brother, Aurele Pepin.
A homemaker, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Stenglein and her husband, Ken of Cornwall, and Donna Lenmark and her husband, Lance of Cornwall; three sons: Louis Despres III and his wife, Tiffin of Germany, Michael Despres and his wife, Tavia of Lompoc, Calif., and Roland Despres and his wife, Julie of Santee, Calif.; two sisters, Therese Benoit of North Dartmouth, Mass. and Pauline Fischer of Acushnet, Mass.; one brother, Rene Pepin of Acushnet, Mass.; 14 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Rita was a kind, gracious, loving woman who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
The family will be present to receive friends and family on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson.
