Notes from the Cornwall Board of Education Meeting
The board recognized teachers and students for their hard work.

CORNWALL, NY - On Monday, June 22nd, the Cornwall Board of Education held their monthly meeting.

The board began the meeting by recognizing the following student and staff for their hard work and dedication.

"Girls on the Run" (Ila Enslen, Kate Patterson, Molly Dunkel, India Blaine, Sofia Taylor, Kierstin Holmsen, Kate Vitale, Molly Sweeney, Annika Taylor, Sophie Drewes, Kira Lukas, Emily Hommel, Julia Deranleau) for organizing a United Way book drive.

Andrea Stupp, Elementary Social Studies Teacher, was recognized for receiving the Mid-Hudson Social Studies Council New Teacher of the Year Award.

Nancy Larkin, who teaches High School Social Studies, was recognized by the Mid-Hudson Social Studies Council for her numerous accomplishments teaching social studies over the past thirty years.

Anthony Ravinsky was named the Cornwall Central Teacher Association's 2015 Teacher of the Year.

Michael Brooks, the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, was recognized by the Mid-Hudson Social Studies Council for his ongoing commitment in supporting their mission to advance and advocate for social studies teachers in the Hudson Valley region.

Beatrice Boylan is a NY State Champion after winning a 2000 Meter Steeplechase, as well as beating the fastest time in the nation during the race.

The rest of the meeting was dedicated to resolving business, which included, replacing outdated textbooks and cleaning out old books from the elementary school library. The board also went on to approve seven new employment agreements, before adjourning.
