Gary, one thing to be aware of is that if a raccoon or dog got to your garbage before the DPW guys did, they're under no compunction to clean up the spill. "Not my job," they'll say, and they're absolutely right.

I also have the same trouble. at times they even miss a full pail. I wish they would put the lids back on when it is raining or snowing so the recycle items dont stick in the wet pail. Also couldnt we do with just one garbage pick up a week instead of two Especially in freezing weather when it would not smell or attract critters

Jack's right. We should always remember that those guys are doing a job none of us wants. THEY should be paid like hedge-fund managers, not the other way around.
