Cornwall, NY – The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is pleased to announce and welcome Lisa Mechaley as its new Education Director. Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in biology with an environmental specialization from Central Connecticut Sate University and a Masters of Science degree in science education from Southern Connecticut. Her experience includes years of teaching science to all ages in elementary and middle school settings as well as at nature centers. Most recently she has been an environmental educator for the Hudson Highlands Land Trust. Lisa looks forward to bringing to the Museum her experience in curriculum development, outreach and staff training. “I love the Museum and all it has to offer the community and beyond,” remarked Lisa. “I look forward to creating some new and interesting environmental programs for adults and children.”

Established in 1959, the Museum has grown into a leading provider of nature education experiences in the Hudson Valley. Its mission is to develop responsible caretakers of the natural world through its special focus on environmental education. It uses its living collections of native animals, natural habitats and trails to present a wide variety of programs for people of all ages at the Outdoor Discovery Center and the Wildlife Education Center. For more information about the museum and the many programs offered go to hhnaturemuseum.org or call 845-534-5506 x204.
