General News: Library Budget Vote and Trustee Election

April 07, 2019

CORNWALL PUBLIC LIBRARY 2019-20

ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET VOTE AND TRUSTEE ELECTION

CORNWALL – The vote for the Cornwall Public Library’s annual operating budget, along with the trustee election featuring three open seats on the Board of Trustees, will be held in the library from 9 a.m-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. Information on budget details and trustee candidates is available on our website, www.cornwallpubliclibrary.org, and is on display at the Library.

Our Library is a bustling place, and when you come in to vote on April 23, please stay for our wildly popular program, Close Encounters with Birds of Prey, at 6:30 p.m.  The program is brought to you by the Delaware Valley Raptor Center, located in Milford, Pa., a private, not-for-profit, tax-exempt state and federally licensed rehabilitation organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and conservation of birds of prey (hawks, eagles, owls, falcons, and vultures). You won’t want to miss this drop-in program!

As the Library Director and a member of the community, I can tell you that Cornwall is the nicest place my family and I have ever lived. At the center of the community is the Cornwall Public Library. I raised my children in the Library, where we participated in children’s and family programs. I came to rely on the parenting section to look up milestones that my children should reach, and used the Library’s resources for homework help.  I also completed much of the work on my master’s degree using the Library’s convenient inter-library loans.

We still offer all those things, and more. The community will continue to receive excellent one-on-one customer service and the high-quality collections and programs you have come to expect. We offer all this, while staying under the state-mandated tax cap.

No matter how old you are, there is always something here for you at the Cornwall Public Library. Your vote matters to help us maintain this valuable community resource.
