Incidents

Police issue approximately 1 warnings and 10 summonses to drivers including warnings and summonses issued for parking at the riverfront without a permit and warnings and summonses issued during a special traffic assignment.

04/20/20 Police and Fire Dept respond to a residence on Cherry Ave. for a report of a gas leak.
04/20/20 Police assist a boater with a boat taking on water and get the boater safely on shore.
04/20/20 Police respond to a parking complaint at the CSX train tracks and advise subjects to move along.
04/21/20 Police, COVAC and Fire Dept respond to Willis Ave. for a vehicle vs tree accident.
04/21/20 Police take a report of a tractor trailer hitting a mirror off of a parked car.
04/26/20 Police respond to a residence on Hudson St for a noise complaint.
04/26/20 A complainant reported that a dog on Pine St was dirty and needed a bath.
04/27/20 Police free a deer stuck in an entrance gate on Bayview Ave.
04/27/20 Police assist a driver locked out of their vehicle.
04/28/20 Police respond to a water main break on Barr Ave.
04/28/20 Police advise a subject on Hudson St. to stop panhandling. Subject said he was moving to Tennessee next week.
05/01/20 Police made contact with all seniors in the Safe Seniors program via telephone and dropped off PPE at residences.
05/01/20 A caller stated that he saw a vehicle spin out of control and hit the guardrail on Rt 9W.
The vehicle then struck a tree. Vehicle was towed, no injuries reported.
05/02/20 A caller reported that 2 males in Darth Vader masks were fishing on the dock in violation of posted signs.
05/02/20 A subject reported garbage at parking lot on Mountain Rd.
05/02/20 A subject reported hearing loud cars on Rt 218.
05/02/20 A subject reported people fishing on a boat after dark.
05/03/20 A store reported larceny of gas. A subject in a light green pickup with a landscape trailer did not pay for gas.
05/03/20 A caller complained about overcrowding at the waterfront and people from out of town taking over the waterfront.
05/03/20 A caller stated that people are coming to the village from NJ and NYC, that the village is not theirs and that they do not belong here.
Caller wants Police and tow trucks stationed at the river.
05/03/20 A caller advised that kids are in the bandstand and not social distancing.
