ASSEMBLYMAN COLIN SCHMITT ANNOUNCES ART SHOWCASE PROGRAM
Chester, NY -- (2/18/2019) Assemblyman Colin Schmitt (R,C,I,Ref-New Windsor) is proud to announce the creation of the 99th Assembly District Art Showcase. Assemblyman Schmitt is encouraging all the artists that live or work in the 99th Assembly District to submit their artwork for consideration to be showcased in both his district and Albany Assembly offices.
The 99th Assembly District has many wonderful artists from diverse backgrounds including professionals, students and amateurs. Assembly Schmitt seeks to highlight these many talented artists and add an important aspect of cultural and community celebration to his office, which is the office of all the people in the district.
Assemblyman Colin Schmitt stated, “Art enriches the soul and brings joy to life. We have so many talented artists and so much profound work that is created in the 99th Assembly District. I wish to showcase a diverse collection of local art in both my local and Albany offices. I want my office to proudly display art that highlights the beauty and talent of my district. Each visitor who comes to my offices should be able to experience a taste of the arts in our area and have something a little extra special to look forward to when coming in for a meeting. I hope all local artists, regardless of medium or experience, would consider participating in the program.”
Sarah McKay, Executive Director of the Orange County Arts Council stated, "Assemblyman Colin Schmitt's Art Showcase is a wonderful new program developed by our new Assemblyman. It is a great way to highlight the many talented artists and the significant work that they produce from across his district in his local and Albany offices. Art and the creative expression of this district is a vital part of life and we thank Assemblyman Schmitt for his support of the arts."
Details for those who would like to participate:
We are seeking submissions from artists, from all mediums, who would like to be showcased in the Assembly offices.
We will have displays rotate at least every two (2) months.
This is a program that aims to promote the arts and talent from our district and bring joy to our office visitors.
We ask that you provide as much information as possible when submitting. The general size of the display area is smaller and will limit what can be accommodated. This is a voluntary program for the benefit of the community, no consideration or financial award is available or offered.

Colin Schmitt is committed to public service. Colin is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and Assemblyman for the 99th NYS Assembly District which includes to the Town of Stony Point in Rockland and The Towns of Wawayanda, Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Chester, Blooming Grove, New Windsor, Cornwall, Highlands and Woodbury. Colin and his wife, Nikki, live in the Town of New Windsor.
