CORNWALL, NY – On Tuesday, May 5th, at 6:30pm, the Cornwall Public Library will be hosting a special local author event sponsored by the Friends of Cornwall Public Library. Hudson Valley author and Cornwall resident, Bill Braine, will be reading from and discussing his debut mystery novel, Bone Hollow. This eco-thriller follows New York hipsters Serena and Jeffrey Gale, who find themselves at the center of a dark conspiracy. The Gales enter a world of cops and killers, bringing the fight to a ruthless enemy among back roads, farms, and forests of the Hudson Valley before he can destroy them and their simple dreams of a place to call home. Amy Plum, best-selling author of the Die for Series has called Bone Hollow “rural suspense with killer stakes!”

Braine’s work has appeared in Runner's World magazine and in the critically acclaimed podcast "Getting On with James Urbaniak" (named one of Rolling Stone's "20 Best Comedy Podcasts," 2014). In addition to his writing, Braine has worked in marketing and product management for MasterCard and for Sotheby’s auction house.

Bone Hollow is published by Hudson Heartland, an imprint of local Hudson Valley publisher, Sloan Publishing. A reader of the Times Herald Record coined the name “Hudson Heartland” in a 2004 reader survey to give the region its own identity, which stretches across Orange and parts of Sullivan and Ulster counties. This new publishing venture aims to share the powerful allure of the region through its stories and is driven by a deep affection for the landscape and the people who live here. In partnership with Sloan Publishing and regional freelancers and organizations, Braine hopes to create compelling narratives and events that speak to the fascinating energy and history of this unique place.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. For more information, visit the publisher’s website at www.hudsonheartland.com.
