1. We have a border collie that we'd be happy to lend to the animal control officer. She needs the exercise (our border collie, that is...)!

2. While I understand people's sentiment about keeping outsiders away, I don't think that it should be done by denying access to the river for residents too. Building a dock/facilities for boaters isn't going to open the floodgates. We'd have to open a bar down there before we'd attract a significant amount of non-resident boaters - assuming that boat launching remains as restricted as it is. I am just frustrated because I own a small sailboat that I can't launch (because the ramp is too shallow) and there's no safe (inexpensive) place for me to dock it (so I don't have to step my mast and unstep it each time that I want to go sailing). My boat sits in my driveway, unused.

Work on the Donahue Park needs to address the geese and their droppings so that the area can be utilized to its fullest. The town has the same problem at Ring's Pond, so why not join forces - Town and Village Governments - buy a border collie and use the Town's Animal Control Officer as its handler. Sounds simple, not expensive and worth a try!! If you agree, let the Mayor and Town Supervisor know.

This letter expresses my views, only, as a Village resident for 53 years.

The fire siren has been a way of life for those 53 years. The daily testing at 5 o'clock is a welcome sound that I look forward to, and listen for, every day.

It is an, even more, welcome sound any other time of day or night, because I know that Storm King members are leaving their homes, their loved ones, their warm beds or dinner, etc.  to help a neighbor in need. Whether it is a fire, a flooded cellar, a broken live wire---whatever---they are there to help.

I'm not an expert on "decibels" but, I would think a noise might be harmful, if it's constant---not once a day for a short period of time!

While I'm at it---let me, also, say I'm against building a pier to invite any boat owner on the river to use our facilities. Donahue Park is a haven for residents, both old and young, to enjoy the peaceful quiet atmosphere, paid for by their taxes and parking permits. They shouldn't be squeezed out by freeloaders. Will it help local business? C'mon--how many visitors do you think will climb that hill on foot? Al Mazzocca
