HHNM Presents: Art in the Wild
April 19, 2014
The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum invites you to the opening day reception of Art in the Wild: Naturally Inspired Trailside Creations.
Meet many of the artists.
Saturday, April 19
2pm-4pm
At the Outdoor Discovery Center
on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road Cornwall
Art in the Wild is a 12-artist installation around the Museum's Pond Trail. The theme is Cycles and the artists have interpreted this in many engaging ways from large over-size insects to spare porcelain flags, hidden birdbaths and mysterious deer heads to an inviting circle of hand-painted stumps to rest on.
The purpose of this project is to help people deepen their appreciation of the relationship between art and the natural world.

It will run on weekends from 10am - 4pm through Sunday, August 31. It is funded in-part by Orange County Tourism & the County of Orange and Orange & Rockland Utilities.
"An art exhibit, outdoors at a Nature Center is that magic combination of the made-made object in contact with the relentless forces of weather, light, rain and animals," says Curator, Daniel Mack.
