Donna’s Singer sings her way to success when her tour “Take the Day Off: Escape With Jazz” stops at the Newburgh Jazz Series 2012 at the Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park (Orange County Park) in Montgomery. There is one show, Thursday August 16, 2012, at 6:30 – 8:30. This is a free concert presented by Ferry Godmother Productions.

International recording jazz artist Donna Singer is an electrifying and dazzling jazz show-stopper with her remarkable repertoire of jazz, swing, and rhythm and blues. Her cool, sultry, vibrant and, at times, playful voice has wowed audiences in intimate café gatherings as well as theater and concert venues. Donna has a wholesome presence that is fun, energetic and simply memorable.

A native and resident of Sullivan County, Donna has put together a tour to celebrate the release of her newest CD, “Take the Day Off: Escape with Jazz”. The album's review by Susan Francis on Yahoo! states, “Donna Singer takes audiences on an escape that they'll want to go on again and again.”  @Critical Jazz says, “Donna Singer is a first call vocalist...with an effervescent spirit and impeccable phrasing.”

Since its first release early this spring, it has received radio airplay on over 175 stations nationally, as well as jazz stations in the Netherlands, UK and Germany. Take The Day Off enjoyed Top 10 chart placement in over 18 major radio markets, including enjoying 4 weeks on the CMJ Top 40 American Jazz Chart peaking in the “Top 20” overall.

As she belts out the tunes, members of The Doug Richard’s Trio provide the lively rhythm and soul-- bassist Doug Richards – a fixture in the global jazz community; keyboardist Billy Alfred – a popular musical director; and drummer Mike Cervone – a rock and jazz performer for the past two decades.

Come and listen to one of Hudson Valley’s own as she demonstrates why jazz is smooth, music is hot and Newburgh has so much to offer.  Do yourself a favor “Take the Day Off” and take advantage of Donna Singer’s performance at the Newburgh Jazz Series 2012 at the Arboretum at Thomas Bull Memorial Park (Orange County Park) in Montgomery.
