Neuhaus announces Santa’s Toy box to collect toys for disadvantaged children in Orange County

Residents can donate new toys starting Thanksgiving weekend through December 22nd

Goshen, N.Y. – Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus and announced on Thursday that Santa’s Toy Box, the annual toy drive for disadvantaged children in Orange County, will begin collecting donations of new toys and games over Thanksgiving weekend and continue through December 22nd.

“This type of generosity is what the holidays are all about,” Neuhaus said. “There are families in Orange County that unfortunately can’t provide gifts for their children. Even the smallest gift can make a difference and I encourage residents who can, to donate a new, unwrapped toy so that every child in Orange County can receive a gift this year.”

Donations will be distributed to families in Orange County via organizations such as Family Empowerment Council, Farmworkers Community Center and Emergency Housing Group. Santa’s Toy Box has been in operation for 32 years and is sponsored by the Orange County Department of Parks with assistance from New Winds Day Hab and Goshen Day Program.

For more information about the toy drive, contact Tom Quinlisk at 457-4910 or TQuinlisk@orangecountygov.com.
