On Saturday, August 10, at 10 a.m., the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will be hosting: Snapping Turtles. Come join environmental educator Pam Golben at the Museum’s Outdoor Discovery Center, on Muser Drive, across from 174 Angola Road, Cornwall, for an exciting program about Snapping Turtles. “Snapping turtles cannot retreat into their shells like other turtles can,” said Pam. “So while on land they protect themselves by lunging and snapping!” 

New York State’s largest native turtle species, the Snapping Turtle, is a common inhabitant of ponds throughout our state. Learn more about this ancient, adaptable reptile and meet a live snapping turtle. After the program take a guided walk to the wetlands. For adults with or without children and children ages 5 and up.
