Concert to Honor Veterans

Elissa Zahn, Minister of Music at Grace United Methodist Church, Newburgh announces a concert honoring Veterans on Sunday, November 1st, at 3PM. The program will celebrate America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Joining Elissa will be Kenneth Pick conducting choir members from Grace, Vails Gate and Gardnertown United Methodist Churches and instrumentalists, Carolyn Topliff, James Barnard and Andy Csisack. Amber Neilson and Laura Wurster will be vocal soloists.
A color guard comprised of the local chapter of Catholic War Veterans will begin the program that will be followed by a wide variety of music. Michael Falco will serve as narrator. The audience will have the opportunity to participate by singing some beloved patriotic songs.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit Veteran’s Build, a division of Habitat for Humanity.
Grace United Methodist Church is located at 468 Broadway in Newburgh. The concert will take place in the sanctuary of the church and a free will donation will be received at the door. If you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation, a check can be made out to “Habitat for Humanity” and in the memo section “Veterans Build”. Those donations may be sent to Grace United Methodist Church at PO Box 2556, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550 / Att: Elissa Zahn. A reception will follow the concert in the church’s Community Room.
Parking is available on Broadway and behind the church building on VanNess Street. Handicap accessibility is also available from the parking lots on VanNess. A chairlift provides handicap accessibility inside the church, as well.
