Ecumenical Service

The 47th annual Cornwall Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will take place at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Cornwall Presbyterian Church (CPC).
The Rev. Patricia Calahan, CPC pastor will greet participants after which the CPC Handbell Choir will perform “We Gather Together,” under the direction of Ruthanne Schempf.
Sally Faith Dorfman Sirota will deliver an Hebraic Call to Worship and a tribute to the late Abby Mayer. Steve Soss and his son, Skyler, from Temple Beth Jacob will sound the ram’s horn (shofar).
Cornwall Town Supervisor Randy Clark and Cornwall-on-Hudson Mayor Brendan Coyne will issue Thanksgiving proclamations.
The beneficiary of the service will be Backpacks for Food, which provides food for children in the Cornwall Central School District (CCSD). Neal Miller, CCSD superintendent, will deliver the Thanksgiving Message.
The Cornwall Ecumenical Choir will sing “It Is Good.”
In addition to CPC, the participating congregations include: Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, Cornwall Quakers, Cornwall United Methodist Church, Mountainville United Methodist Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church, St. Thomas of Canterbury Church and Temple Beth Jacob.
