USMA Band 4th of July Concert

July 04, 2015

The USMA Concert Band Independence Day Celebration present an Independence Day celebration on July 4, at  8:00 p.m. at the Trophy Point Amphitheatre in West Point, New York.

WEST POINT BAND PERFORMS ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION WITH FIREWORKS AT TROPHY POINT

West Point, NY – The West Point Band will present its annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 4 at 8:00 p.m. at the Trophy Point Amphitheatre. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be held on July 5. The concert will include music ranging from marches to rock and roll, followed by a spectacular fireworks display overlooking the Hudson River. There is no better way to celebrate America’s independence than with a performance by the West Point Band at Trophy Point. This concert is free and open to the public.

In keeping with tradition, the concert will begin as fifty West Point Cadets from the class of 2019 will participate in the “Salute to the States” presentation. Each cadet will represent his or her home state until every state of our Union is recognized.

The Concert Band, conducted by the West Point Band’s Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Esch, will lead the band in a stirring array of patriotic favorites, including “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “America the Beautiful,” “God Bless America,” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” to name just a few. The Hellcats will also be featured in their Highland Tattoo Fanfare, followed by The Official West Point March. To wrap up the performance, the West Point Band’s rock band, the Benny Havens Band, will ramp up the excitement with a mix of today’s hit music from artists such as Justin Timberlake, Macklemore, and Katy Perry, among others. Stay for the finale, a brilliant fireworks display over the Hudson River set to the music of the West Point Band.
