Orange AHRC Announces 2014 Dream Catchers Award Honorees to be Presented at 60th Anniversary Gala on May 15

Newburgh, NY - Orange AHRC, will hold its 60th anniversary Dream Catchers Gala on Thursday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor, NY. Proceeds will support Orange AHRC, a not-for-profit agency founded in 1954 by a small group of parents and family members of people with developmental disabilities. This heart-warming event celebrates the mission of the agency by honoring employees, members of the community, and people supported by the agency who have gained recognition in the community through realizing personal dreams and accomplishments. This year’s event honors Elizabeth Avila Brown, Orange AHRC Artists, and 2 Alice’s Coffee Lounge of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Orange AHRC Executive Director explains, “Orange AHRC looks forward each year to celebrating the success of our mission and this year we are excited to celebrate our 60th year of service to Orange County.” The celebration will include a cocktail reception and dinner with awards presentation. Sponsors include Relph Benefit Advisors, Orange & Rockland, Focused Wealth Management, and William A Smith & Son. Ticket price is $100 per person and sponsorships and journal ad space are available. Headquartered in Newburgh, NY, the mission of Orange AHRC is to create an environment that supports and advocates for people of all ages with unique abilities and challenges so they can live as valued members of the community. Everyday, Orange AHRC’s 750 employees serve more than 1,500 children and adults with developmental disabilities in 29 program locations and in private family homes throughout Orange County. Orange AHRC provides innovative, individualized programs including: evaluation and early intervention services, daycare for infants and toddlers, preschool for children ages 3-5, school for children aged 5-21 with severe disabilities, adult day services (vocational training, job placement, life skills enhancement, community volunteerism, and recreational activities), adult residential services (19 homes throughout the County each staffed 24/7 providing a family setting and life skills development) and adult support services (clinical services, guardianship, service coordination, family respite, facility/equipment/risk management, and transportation).
