The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is pleased to announce a $1000 Freshman Year Scholarship
The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Scholarship for Environmental Stewardship. The award of $1,000 goes to a 2015 graduate of Cornwall High School for the freshman year of study at a two-year or four-year college or university.
Made possible through the generosity of a Museum benefactor, the scholarship is designed to support a student who has a demonstrated interest in caring for the environment.
To be considered for the HHNM Scholarship for Environmental Stewardship, an application must be completed and returned to the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum and postmarked no later than Monday, May 4, 2015. Mail to:

Scholarship Opportunity Announcement
The Historical Society of the Newburgh Bay and Highlands is pleased to announce the availability of an annual $1000.00 college scholarship to be given to an outstanding student interested in history or historical preservation, archeology, anthropology, or information services.
The applicant should show an interest in the history of the area and should demonstrate this interest through participation in activities that relate to the history of the area. The Historical Society would like the scholarship to encourage young people to be active participants in learning about and preserving our historical heritage. Application deadline: June 15th

Scholarships available to students through Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan
In the 2013-2014 academic year, the Community Foundation awarded over $177,000 in scholarships throughout 25 school districts in Orange County, Sullivan County and beyond. These scholarships, awarded to more than 80 students, were made possible through the funds the Community Foundation administers on behalf of charitably-minded individuals and organizations. Since 2000, scholarship funds at the Community Foundation have collectively awarded over $1,241,175 to deserving students from throughout the region.
For the 2014-2015 academic year, over $190,000 in scholarships are available. Students should visit the guidance office in their respective schools to obtain information on criteria and process. Applications may also be accessed on the Community Foundation’s website at www.cfosny.org/our-funds/scholarships.
