Lucille Helen Eddy Hand Monson of Mountainville and Hamlet of Wallkill was born July 3, 1936 in Cornwall, NY.

The daughter of the late Raymond and Helen (Markert) Eddy and the widow of Cecil Monson, she died unexpectedly at her new home in the Hamlet of Wallkill on March 31, 2011.

She was broker/owner for over 40 years of Lucille Hand Real Estate in Mountainville and Ellenville.

She was a member of the Orange, Ulster and Sullivan Board of Realtors, the Cornwall Historical Society, the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Mountainville Methodist Church and the Mountainville Grange. She was a former member of the Mountainville Engine Ladies Auxiliary.

Mom loved to travel in her motor home with family and friends. She also traveled with the Cornwall Seniors on many trips to the casinos. She especially enjoyed her recent trip to Ireland. She was an avid Army Football and New York Yankees fan. She loved being “Grammy” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children Kenneth Hand and wife, Marybeth (Beezer), of Cornwall; Gail Vesely and her fiancée, Kelly Collins, of Napanoch; Martin Hand and wife, Mary, of Wallkill; John Hand Jr. and wife, Patty, of Highland Mills. Grandchildren: Shelly DiLello and husband, Gianni; Lori Chapman and husband, Jeff; Marty Hand Jr. and fiancée, Eliza Hart; Amy Maher and husband, Dennis; Kathleen Hand; Kelley Hand; Thomas Hand; Kelsey Hand; John Hand III; and Kenny Hand. Great-grandchildren: Tyler DiLello, Madison Chapman, Sean and Genevieve Maher. She is also survived by her sister, Lois, Tina DeSmedt-Wells, of Middletown. She also leaves behind her loving dog, Jack.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, , 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson NY 12520. Funeral service will be 11 am on Monday, April 4, 2011 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mountainville, NY.
