How often do you get to see a huge steel bridge float by on the Hudson River? Frank Ostrander got a chance to see and photograph the Willis Avenue Bridge on Tuesday evening as it passed by Cornwall-on-Hudson on its way to its final destination in the Bronx.

The prefabricated steel bridge measures about 350 feet long, 65 feet high and 77 feet wide and is carried on barges guided by three tugboats.

The bridge was constructed in the Port of Coeyman’s then sent south to its final destination as a replacement for the 110-year-old original Willis Avenue Bridge.

Read more about the bridge in the New York Times.
