Cornwall Public Library seeks candidates for one open Library Trustee seat

CORNWALL, NY – The Cornwall Public Library is currently making petitions available for people interested in running for the position of Library Trustee. One trustee position will be on the ballot at the annual budget vote on April 17, 2018. This is a three-year term. Members of the Board of Trustees attend monthly meetings, occasional committee meetings, and work sessions as needed.

The library seeks innovative, community-minded people interested in helping guide the library into the future. Trustees determine the fiscal budget, set policy and help discern the library response to community needs.

Candidates must meet the following legal requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a citizen of the U.S., and
Have legal residency in the Cornwall Central School District for at least the past 30 days.

Petitions are available at the Cornwall Public Library during regular library hours or can be downloaded from our website: http://www.cornwallpubliclibrary.org/library-trustee-election-2018/. Petitions must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the school district and must be filed at the library no later than 6:00pm Friday, March 23, 2018 to be included on the ballot. For further information please call the Library Director, Mary Lou Carolan, at 534-8282, ext. 201 or email: mlcarolan@rcls.org.
