Barbara A. Devitt, a longtime resident of Mountainville, NY, passed away on March 9, 2018.
The daughter of the late Stephen and Bessie Cooke Quackenbush, she was born on April 27, 1930 in Walden, NY.
Barbara was a lifetime member and former trustee of the Mountainville United Methodist Church, a former trustee and secretary of Pleasant Hill Cemetery Assoc., charter member of the Mountainville Engine Company Auxiliary, charter member and former trustee of the Cornwall Historical Society, a lifetime member of the Orange County Genealogical Society and a former election inspector. She was retired from Star Expansion.
Survivors include: son Glenn E. Devitt; daughter Louise A. Danelishen (Larry); grandchildren: Gary M. Danelishen (Natalie), and Sara L. Jennings (Jon); great-grandchildren: Jacob and Lillian Danelishen; sister Helen Annan plus several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy W. Devitt.
Visitation will be from 9-11am on Sat., March 17 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Ave. A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. An 11:30am funeral service will follow at the Mountainville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
