Obituaries: Mary A. Kelder

 Mary A. Kelder, 89, of Cambridge, NY, formerly a longtime resident of Cornwall, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in the comfort of her home.

The daughter of the late Cyril and Margaret Conroy Yearwood, she was born on October 15, 1927 in Montgomery, NY.

Mary was a 1947 graduate of Cornwall Central School. She attended business school in Newburgh, earning a certificate.

She was a stenographer at Firth Carpet Co.. She then assisted on the family farm on Sarah Wells Trail in Washingtonville. Mary became a homemaker and she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mary was a member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church and a member of Catholic Daughters of America, Court Rita #264.

Survivors include her children: Margaret L. Kelder and spouse, Melissa Devine of Cambridge, NY; Graham E. Kelder, Jr. and wife, Regina McEnery of Cambridge, MA; and Anne M. Barriel of New Paltz, NY; grandchildren: Daniel Barriel and wife Carole, Joshua Barriel, Nathaniel Barriel and Rachel Barriel; several nieces, nephews and cousins, plus her dear friend, Patricia Pierce. She was predeceased by her husband, Graham E. Kelder, Sr., sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Ralph Edwards, son-in-law William Barriel and nephew Ralph Edwards, III.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 25 from 4-7pm at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Ave. A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 26 at 10am at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson St., Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mary’s memory please be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, 37 Gilbert St., Cambridge, NY 12816 or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
