Obituaries: Kevin Eugene Kane

 Kevin Eugene Kane (aka Trapper Bull Slangstone) was born on March 4, 1956 at the Cornwall hospital and died peacefully in his sleep at his apartment on July 6, 2017. He struggled with health issues over the last 20 years and recently had a heart attack. He was the third child of the late Henry and Gertrude Tricarico Kane.

Kevin attended Willow Avenue elementary and Cornwall Junior High. Mr. Kane spent a short time in the Navy during 1973. He resettled in the northwest US about 30 years ago and enjoyed Portland, OR as well as his last residence in Vancouver, WA. Kevin loved to fish, trap and live off the land in his earlier years. Trapper, as he was known to his friends in Vancouver, was friendly, considerate, helpful and creative.

Mr. Kane was predeceased by his parents in 2009, a sister Barbara in 1959, a brother Brian in 1961 and his sister Karen Kane in 2011. Kevin is survived by his brothers George Kane of Cornwall and Henry Kane Jr. and wife Diane of New Windsor. He has one son, David G. Ransom of Marlboro, several nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins across the country.

There will be a graveside service only on Sat. July 29th at 11:45 a.m. at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, NY. There, he will be laid to rest with his sister and near his parents.

In lieu of flowers please, make a memorial contribution to the Friends of the Cornwall Public Library 395 Hudson St., Cornwall, NY 12518.

If you wish to attend the graveside service please meet at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home 337 Hudson St., Cornwall on Hudson, NY at 10:45 a.m.
