Obituaries: Edwin Sanchez

 Edwin Sanchez, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2017 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, MA. He was 86 years old.

The son of the late Casto Sanchez and Virginia Vega Sanchez, Edwin was born on December 15, 1930 in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico.

Edwin honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force for over 22 years and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Upon his retirement from the US Air Force, Edwin was employed in the Civilian Personnel Office at West Point, NY.

Family Statement: Dad was a rock of strength, love, and support. The important things in his life were his country, his family, his cherished great grandchildren, and his beloved little dog, Willie.

Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Milagros (Gonzalez) Sanchez; his son, Edwin J. Sanchez (Ellen) of Walden, NY; his daughters, Evelyn I. Higgens (Timothy E.) of North Attleboro, MA, Ivonne M. O’Brien (Timothy J.) of North Attleboro, MA, and Cindy Wild (George) of Youngstown, OH; six grandchildren, Megan O’Brien, Danielle Jackson, Lauren Jordan, Amanda Sanchez, Eric and Ryan Higgens; three great-grandchildren, Lila, Eden, and Jack; and his sister, Ivia Sanchez.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28th, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 29th at the funeral home. Entombment with Military Honors will follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery & Mausoleum, Middle Hope, NY.
